A LITTLE PERSONAL ADVENT GIFT - FROM ME TO YOU
I send you a personal greeting and a small Advent gift because I value our relationship and the cooperation we have - whether we are in daily, weekly or annual contact.
Time is running out. Especially in December. Therefore, my gift is a loving reminder that life is lived now and not only when the corona is gone. We must find room for presence, even if the circumstances are neither for Christmas hugs nor kisses under the mistletoe.
As a kid, I used to grow up with parents and grandparents who loved to tell stories. Especially at Christmas time, I remember that my grandmother found the heavy, old book with Hans Christian Andersen's collected works. The pages had golden edges, and there was a very special scent around us when she carefully opened the book and flipped to the adventure I had chosen. I want to pass on that mood.
This year I will read an adventure for you and your loved ones. In exactly the same spirit as when I was a child. You will hear one of Hans Christian Andersen's most famous Christmas fairy tales, the Fir Tree, in memory of the fact that life is best lived in the present. That reminder we need in this time when the lives and chores of many are put on involuntary stand-by.
Let us cherish all that we care about and hopefully my little Advent gift will contribute to just that. Light a candle, find the peppercorns, enjoy a mulled wine or hot cocoa while you are told or retold the story of the Fir Tree - or let the children listen to the story while you manage the last emails of the day. You are also welcome to forward it to someone you care about who needs a little adventure in a dark time.
Let the Christmas adventure begin,
